As States Seek to Limit Abortions, Montana Wants to Redefine What Is Medically Necessary
Montana’s conservative leaders, stymied by the courts from passing guidelines that impose sizeable statewide abortion limits, request to tighten the state’s Medicaid rules to make it far more challenging for small-income females to get abortions. The Montana Division of Community Wellbeing and Human Solutions is proposing to determine when an abortion is medically needed, restrict who can complete these types of products and services, and require preauthorization for most instances.
