
Andrew Cuomo blasts Manhattan DA Bragg’s Trump probe: ‘I think it’s all politics’
Previous Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo criticized Manhattan District Lawyer Alvin Bragg over his target on likely prosecuting previous President Donald Trump and instructed the shift is politically inspired.
“I really don’t recognize why Bragg is putting these types of emphasis on this situation,” the previous governor explained to WABC Radio on Friday night time.
“A man or woman breaks the regulation I get it, but on the condition side this is a misdemeanor scenario. It is genuinely a federal scenario since he wants it to be a campaign finance fraud case which is a federal scenario and which is what Bragg is likely to have to do to get a felony out of this.”
Cuomo mentioned that the public is typically “cynical” and “when they see prosecutors bringing these political circumstances” it just “affirms everybody’s cynicism.”

“I feel it is all politics and that is what I assume the folks of this region are saying,” Cuomo ongoing. “It just feeds that anger and that cynicism and the partisanship. It is a coincidence that Bragg goes just after Trump and Tish James goes soon after Trump and Ga goes immediately after Trump? Which is all a coincidence? I believe it feeds the cynicism and that is the most cancers in our body politic right now.”
Inspite of the comments about Bragg’s motivation, Cuomo claims he does think an indictment will be handed down upcoming week although bringing up the outdated adage that district attorneys can “indict a ham sandwich” if they want to.

“I’m absolutely sure they’ll get an indictment,” Cuomo explained.
Bragg has been broadly criticized by Republicans for making an attempt to indict Trump in link with the alleged “hush funds” payments to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 that several authorized experts have concluded is a weak and politically inspired circumstance.

Leading Home Republicans have demanded in the type of a letter that Bragg testify to Congress about the indictment and switch in excess of files related to the case warning that the indictment could “erode confidence in the evenhanded application of justice and unalterably interfere in the courtroom of the 2024 presidential election.”
Bragg’s place of work responded defiantly to that letter stating that “we will not be intimidated by tries to undermine the justice procedure nor will we permit baseless accusations prevent us from relatively making use of the legislation.”
Bragg sent a letter to the Republicans indicating that their inquiry was “an unlawful incursion into New York’s sovereignty.”

Republicans pushed back again on that letter with a further letter on Saturday arguing that their actions have a legislative goal and noting that Bragg did not deny their accusations that the situation is politically motivated.
Bragg’s office environment did not immediately reply to a request for comment from Fox News Electronic.
